Berea’s Annual Spoonbread Festival is back for 2022 with three exciting days of fun for all ages. Read on to learn more about what to expect at the festival this year.
The Spoonbread Festival started back in 1997 and has grown over time to attract tons of visitors from all across Kentucky and around the country. Each year the festival features a packed events schedule, loads of vendors and tons of fun, family-friendly activities. The Spoonbread Festival truly has something for everyone, so bring your whole family and invite your friends!
You can’t beat the deal either, the festival has free admission, free parking, a range of free entertainment and free inflatables for the kids along with even more free activities, events and entertainment. One of our favorite activities at the Spoonbread festival is the Balloon Glow-up where they light-up several hot air balloons in a field. It’s really cool to see them lit up against the night sky.
The festival’s namesake dish, Spoonbread, is a souffle-like cornbread dish that originated in the Berea Area and is a favorite among guests at the Historic Boone Tavern restaurant. Spoonbread will be sold throughout the weekend, just look for the Spoonbread Tent.
