Louisville Convention Center: Everything You Need to Know

Kentucky International Convention Center Louisville

Each year the Louisville convention center, named the Kentucky International Convention Center, abbreviated KICC, draws many visitors to Louisville. The multi-purpose building has a flexible floorpan and can hosts various types of events from weddings to large expos and conferences.

The LEED certified facility recently underwent a $207 million dollar renovation and today is a top-tier convention center and business hub. The interior is fresh and modern, making it a desirable event venue.

KICC, Louisville’s convention center is conveniently located in downtown Louisville, with close proximity to hotels, restaurants, shops and other downtown attractions.

How to Get to Louisville’s Convention Center from the Airport?

The Louisville International Airport is around 8 miles away from the convention center. Taxi and ride-sharing services are available from the airport to the convention center. There are also rental cars available at the airport. For those driving to the convention center, there are two parking garages available on-site: the Commonwealth Garage and the Cowger Garage. ADA accessible parking spaces are available. Parking rates start at $2 for the first hour and $10 for 24 hours.

What Type of Events are Hosted at the Louisville Convention Center?

With over 300,000 square foot, 52 meeting rooms, several ballrooms and large halls, the Louisville convention center has space for virtually every type of meeting or event. From weddings to business meetings and large-scale expo events. The convention center can accommodate events ranging from 175 to 4,000 people.

Take a Ride on the Belle of Louisville

Seeing Louisville from the water is a memorable experience. Make that a historic steamboat and you’ve got an extra special experience. The trail is full of award-winning micro-distilleries, craft cocktail destinations and exhibits related to Bourbon. Stop by the Louisville Visitor Information Center and pick up your guidebook that outlines the 34 stops on the self-guided walking tour.
