Louisville has some of the best shopping in the area and you’d be remiss if you didn’t check it out. If it’s malls or shopping centers with chain stores you’re after, you’ll want to check out Oxmoor Mall, The Paddock Shops, Mall St. Matthews, and Jefferson Mall. However, if you are after a bit more local flavor, or prefer to shop at unique shops you can’t find elsewhere in the state/country then scroll our list below for inspiration!

Founded in 1815, Louisville Stoneware in the Highlands neighborhood is one of the oldest stoneware manufacturers in the country. They are committed to carefully transforming clay into artistic and functional home and garden pieces. The prices are a bit on the steep side, but you get what you pay for and the quality is unmatched. If you are interested in the pottery making process, there are guided tours twice daily. They also offer a paint-your-own pottery experience and retail shop.

We could spend hours here perusing the racks, trying on clothes and scoring vintage finds. If you love shopping local you have to check out this Frankfort Avenue shop. The store spans 1,600 square feet which is all stocked with gorgeous, locally hand-crafted home goods, jewelry, souveniers, gifts, food, apparel and art. They also have an online print shop where you can print a custom gift on site.. If you can’t make it to Louisville but still love the goods, you aren’t alone. Thankfully, 5-0-Lou has a fantastic online store with plenty of great items which can be shipped all over the country or ordered for pickup at their brick and mortar location.

If you are yearning for summer to get here so you can visit fun art markets, your wait is over. Block Party’s two Louisville locations recreate that vibe year round in a fun retail space. They are a collaborate, handmade boutique where vendors rent small spaces in the shop. Every item you find her is made by local and regional artists who merchandise and sell their items out of the space. It’s a co-op so the employees are all artists who work together at the store – what a fun concept!
