With school districts across the state closed and many parents suddenly thrown into homeschooling their kids, a variety of organizations are offering free online educational activities. Check out our list below to make homeschooling a breeze and keep your kids happy and entertained during the COVID closures. Cincinnati Zoo’s Home Safari

With the Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden closed for the next while, they are posting daily ‘Home Safari’ Live videos on their Facebook page. They plan to post the videos 7 days a week. You can also find them on their website and Youtube channel.

 

Explorium of Lexington Home Activities

Explorium of Lexington KY

The Explorium of Lexington is closed but be on the lookout for daily ideas for fun and educational activities to do at home, they’ll be posting those on their Facebook page starting Monday March 16

 

Frazier History Museum’s Virtual Museum

Frazier History Museum is closed to the public for the next bit but they are offering free entertainment and educational content through our site. We will be adding new content and activities daily. Find all of the links here on their Virtual Museum Page

 

Lunch Doodles with Mo Willems

The Kennedy Center Youtube Channel is sharing daily doodling videos with well-known children’s book author and illustrator Mo Willems. He’s well known for his work in television and his many children’s book’s such as Don’t Let The Pigeon Drive the Bus and the Elephant and Piggie Series.

 

Broadway Musicals and Operas from Home

Playbill has compiled a list of 15 Broadway musicals you can watch on stage from home. Meanwhile the Metropolitan Opera will host “Nightly Met Opera Streams” on its official website in an attempt to continue providing opera to its audience members.

 

Museums offering Virtual Tours

A number of museums around the world are offering virtual tours that you can take from your sofa! Museums include the British Museum in London, the Guggenheim in New York City, as well as the National Gallery of Art in D.C. and the Musee d’Orsay in Paris.
